Wedding Photography FAQs
It’s not that I don’t want to hear from you or that I don’t like answering your questions, but I thought it would be helpful if I put together a list of common questions I get and some questions you may not have thought to ask. If your question isn’t answered here, please don’t hesitate to contact me!
Why should I hire you to shoot my wedding?
This is an important question to ask. There is no shortage of people out there willing to take your money to photograph your wedding, but you need to be confident in your choice. There is much more to wedding photography than just photos. Your wedding photographer will likely be with you all day so you will want to be sure that your photographer is someone that will remove stress from your day, not add to it.
I take a very personal approach to weddings and to my clients. I make sure that I understand your expectations and what is important to you so there are no unhappy surprises on your wedding day or when you first see your photos. I accomplish this by making time to talk with you about your wedding day, understanding the photos that are most important to you, and making sure that we are on the same page before your wedding day. This ensures that you feel confident in your choice of photographer, and it is one less thing you have to think about on your wedding day.
Are you insured?
Yes! I carry liability insurance and I am able to provide proof of insurance to your selected venue should they require it.
My uncle/cousin/nephew/etc is pretty good with a camera, why do I need to hire a professional?
With the popularity of digital camera increasing and the cost of quality cameras decreasing almost everyone knows of someone who considers photography as a hobby. This is not to discount amateur photographers; there are many talented photographers out there that may be capable of successfully shooting your wedding. However there are some key differences that you should be aware of.
Where are you located?
I live in Danbury, Connecticut. I am also willing to travel throughout CT and Westchester County New York. If you’re wedding is outside of this area, please contact me and we can work out travel arrangements.
How many photos will I receive?
The amount of photos you receive depends on a lot of different factors; therefore I never pin down number. Trust that there will be enough photos to adequately tell the story of your wedding day.
When can I expect to see the photos from my wedding?
I hand process all of the photos I take, so turn around time is not immediate. Please expect about 8 to 12 weeks before I begin to upload your finished photos online.
How do I print my photos?
All wedding packages include a gallery for your photos. If you would like to order prints (which I encourage everyone to do), you can simply order them through your proofing gallery and have them delivered to you. If you are having trouble printing, please contact me. Please note that the watermark you see on the photos in the online gallery will not appear on your prints.
Can my family and friends see my photos too?
Absolutely! Your wedding gallery will be password protected, but you are free to give that password to anyone you like. Friends and family are also able to order any prints they would like from the proofing gallery as well.
Will I get all of my wedding photos on CD?
Yes, you will receive a DVD with all of the print ready, high resolution images that are in your online gallery. The photos on your DVD will be free of any watermarks and can be printed without any further royalty or payment to me.
Do any of your wedding photography packages include an album?
No, none of the packages I offer include an album, however if you would like to add an album I am happy to work with you to create one. Please contact me for more information on wedding albums!
What kind of photo equipment do you use?
I use pro level Canon digital SLR cameras and lenses, and a full array of backup equipment.
Can I see a full set of photos from a wedding you have shot?
